New Frontier Academy has a unique philosophy on discipline. All students are treated with respect. When a student makes bad choices they are taught what mistakes that they have made and how to avoid those bad choices. Students at New Frontier Academy are not punished but disciplined. The purpose of discipline is to correct the negative behavior. Consequences are given to help students learn from their bad choices.
Zero Tolerance
There is zero tolerance for any act that could harm others or ones self.
There is zero tolerance for and gang related behavior.
There is zero tolerance for any acts of vandalism or destruction of property.
Positive Behavior Recognition
Teachers are encouraged to recognize students with positive behavior or acts of kindness. Students who show positive behavior will be recognized, rewarded, and receive special privileges. More information on PBR will be sent home during the school year
Discipline
There are several avenues for dealing with negative behavior. Most discipline problems are dealt with by the teacher and parents. On the occasion an issue needs to be dealt with on a different level here are the options.
Counseling from the Principal
Parent Meeting
Detentions (there is a 5.00 charge for each detention that a student is issued)
Suspension
Expulsion
